Linda King Hall is the featured artist at The Artists’ Gallery during the month of June with her new exhibit “Vistas & Venues Revisited.” There will be an opening reception on June 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The Artists’ Gallery is located at 239 High Street in Chestertown.
Linda moved to Kent County from Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1997 and currently makes her home in Betterton.
“Since I have painted for the past 20 years on the Eastern Shore, marveling at its beautiful light on water, fields and changing skies, it amounts to a magical place for the painter,” explains Linda. “In this show I wanted to revisit some of my favorite themes, from landscape to still life. So I have explored scenes in the morning light as well as the same scene in the evening light. Still life has prompted me to repeat a theme using different paper such as “YUPO” which is a slick plastic surface, also watercolor canvas. I also painted some of my travel paintings that I had done originally in watercolor, now in oil. It’s a great challenge, changing mediums for a subject and giving a fresh eye to the subject matter.”
