Skating on Home Ice Ending for the Season

Is the figure skating season over already? Well, at least on Easton’s home ice it is.

The Talbot Figure Skating Team’s (TFST) final show of the season at the Talbot County Community Center will be on Saturday, February 23 at 1 p.m. This Spring Exhibition, entitled Enchanted Wonderland, will feature not only TFST members showcasing their talents in solo, duet, synchronized, and theater programs, but will also debut the Talbot County Parks and Recreation Learn to Skate/Show Your Style skaters’ performance as well.  All the skaters and coaches have been working hard fine tuning their competitive programs as they use this show as a dress rehearsal for their upcoming competition season which goes into the summer.  The Spring Exhibition skating show is always the highlight of the year for TFST skaters, coaches and our family, friends and fans. As always, this show is open to the public and the team is proud to offer free admission.

Just prior to melting the winter ice, TFST was lucky to squeeze in one final home ice competition on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17. The 2019 Talbot Classic will be hosting more than 100 skaters from clubs across Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.  Visitors should feel free to come watch a few events, an award ceremony, grab lunch or dinner, or just shop any of our independent vendors. Admission to this event is also free to spectators. See the TFST website for more details at www.talbotfigureskatingteam.org.

TFST is proud to be the only skating club on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and would not exist without support. As the home ice is melted for the 10th season, TFST wants to thank all of the parents, coaches, and volunteers that put in countless hours on behalf of the club. And, just as importantly, a huge thank you to all its club and community sponsors for their generous donations that keep the team returning to the ice each year. Wish the team luck as the TFST members travel to practices at other rinks and finish out the competition season through August.
