Supporting Compass Regional Hospice

In 2020, Compass Regional Hospice is celebrating 35 years. While this year has been a challenge for many, Compass’ team has made it their mission to continue to actively support the community, serving their patients and families. The dedicated staff has been selflessly on the front lines, caring for some of our communities’ most vulnerable.

Taking the utmost precautions to protect staff, patients, and volunteers, team members have introduced new ways to engage with patients and families and recruit volunteers. This includes telehealth appointments, virtual support group meetings, online training sessions, and more.

The clinical care team continues to serve patients at both Centreville and Chestertown Hospice Centers, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, and in patients’ homes.

Recognizing that this can be an isolating time for all, their grief counselors and social workers continue to provide emotional and psychosocial support to those struggling with grief and maintaining their mental health.
