The Kent Island Federation of Arts announces its 58th Annual Open Judged Art show “Diversity in Culture.” This show will be held from April 28th to May 23rd and awards given. All artists are invited to enter. All entries must be postmarked by April 21st. Artists may enter up to three works and are encouraged to include a narrative with their work. This year’s judge is Barbara Nuss from Annapolis, MD.
Barbara has been painting and teaching both in her studio and in plein air workshops full time since 1983. She considers her book, “Secrets to Composition,” one of her most significant achievements. She began her artistic career with a BFA from Syracuse University, followed by study at the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore. She worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for many years, to which she credits valuable experience on her convoluted artistic journey. She has won many awards for her landscapes including “Best Landscape” in NOAPS Best of America, “Best Landscape” in Women Artists of the West Annual Exhibition, and most recently “Best Landscape” in International Guild of Realism’s Annual Exhibition.
