At Easton’s Avalon Theatre, summer is in full swing with great shows inside and outside the theatre, and so much more. Tickets are available at avalonfoundation.org or by calling Jodie at the Box Office at 410-822-7299 for more information.

June 2 • Jennifer Knapp

Jennifer Knapp offers up a mix of dark, introspective ballads awash with country and blues tones as well as a couple of flat-out barnburners.

June 8 • Josh Ritter

Josh Ritter is a leader in contemporary folk music, known for his distinctive Americana style and narrative lyrics. Influences include Leonard Cohen, Gillian Welch, Billy Collins, and Mark Twain.

June 9 • Kaia Kater

With deep ties to Canadian folk music and Appalachian music, Kaia Kater is often praised for her capacity to sound new and old at once. Kaia anchors her music where tradition and innovation intersect.

June 18 • The Wailers

The legendary Wailers band is carrying its revolutionary sound and message to faithful fans around the world. Steered by famed bassist and founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett, and joined in solidarity with original Wailers Junior Marvin and Donald Kinsey, The Wailers are making musical history. The band that created, recorded, and performed Reggae music for all generations will have you skanking in the aisle with your favorite songs from “Exodus,” “Kaya,” “Legend,” and “Rastaman Vibration,” to today’s exciting new music. From Familyman’s signature booming bass to Junior and Donald’s electrifying rock/blues guitar licks and leads, the sound, the power, the heartbeat of Reggae music will have everyone calling out for more.

June 23 • Karen Jonas

Karen Jonas is a hot new country songstress. “Jonas is clearly one of the best songwriters in country music today and there’s perhaps no artist more sure of their sound and writing than her,” says Country Perspective.

June 24 • Rachel B

Rachel B is a singer-songwriter thriving with her self-appointed genre of soul empowerment pop, blending vivacity and uplifting melodies with hints of sass. She draws much of her inspiration from the likes of Amy Winehouse and Ella Fitzgerald.

June 29 • Deana Carter

Drenched in sun-kissed natural beauty both inside and out, Deana Carter didn’t take a seemingly easy route to stardom. And she undeniably took the industry and fans by storm with her wildly successful multi-platinum international debut “Did I Shave My Legs For This?” more than a decade ago. Anchored by the dreamy super hit “Strawberry Wine,” Deana Carter showcased her own blend of country and retro-rock sprinkled with the folksy singer/songwriter qualities that have garnered her well-deserved respect and wild acclaim.

Avalon Theatre’s concerts are supported in part by The Talbot County Arts Council. For more information and/or tickets, call the Avalon at 410-822-7299 or visit avalonfoundation.org.
