Black History Celebration

Celebrate Black History with a diverse offering of the arts, including readings of original published stories by author Dawn Wayman, with Q&A session to follow; cultural collage-making by artist Yolanda Acree; textile works by black artists; delicious soul food prepared by Chef Jameyra; and music by Teran Goldsborough. Fabric and textile works by Black Eastern Shore artists will be on display at FACES. Event photography by local artist Kara Greene. This is a free event for all ages. Enjoy the festivities at The Foundry, home of the Caroline County Council of Arts, as well as the Fiber Arts Center of the Eastern Shore (FACES), located on Fourth Street, within the Arts & Entertainment district of Downtown Denton. Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Denton Elmentary School, Denton
When the sun goes down the fun begins! In this variation of the traditional Easter Egg Hunt, kids ages 3 – 10 will hunt eggs in the dark using only a flashlight and their own night vision. There will be prizes for the special eggs that are found. This event is being held at Denton Elementary on Friday, March 31. The hunt is separated by age: 3 & 4 years at 8:15 p.m. and 5 – 10 years at 8:45 p.m. Cost is $5 per child. Each participant needs to bring a flashlight (size limited to 2 D batteries) and a basket or bag to collect the eggs. Parent or guardian must attend with their child. Rain date Thursday, April 6.
