Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival

February 14 @ 12:00 am - February 16 @ 12:00 am

Discover Easton is excited to announce the inclusion of an outdoor ice skating rink, sponsored by Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC), during the inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival February 14-16 in downtown Easton.

AAMC is now a part of Luminis Health, a new integrated health system formed in 2019. Located in Annapolis, Md., AAMC serves an area of more than one million people. Its new AAMC Pavilion – Easton, located at 28438 Marlboro Ave., offers primary care appointments and a wide variety of new specialty services to Easton and the Mid-Shore.  Dr. Dimitri Thomas, an orthopedic surgeon at the AAMC Easton Pavilion, said, “We’re bringing together a variety of services to better care for Maryland’s Eastern Shore community backed by Anne Arundel Medical Center, care you know and trust.”

The synthetic ice rink will be furnished by Fantasy World Entertainment, a family-owned Maryland business with more than 28 years of experience at over 28,000 events. The rink will be open in downtown Easton on Friday, February 14 (4:00-8:00 p.m.), Saturday, February 15 (11:00 a.m.-4 p.m.), and Sunday, February 16 (11:00 a.m.-3 p.m.). A $5 donation covers skate rental and rink time, and proceeds help fund future Signature Events organized by Discover Easton.

The inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival will feature ice sculptures, live carvings, fire performers, a Family Fun Center, Stews ‘n Brews event, music and more in historic Easton this February. The three-day event was created to offer families and couples from around the region a fun winter weekend to enjoy Easton’s downtown and the Eastern Shore while perusing professionally-carved sculptures.

“We are so excited to bring a community partner like Anne Arundel Medical Center into this great inaugural event,” Discover Easton Executive Director Ross Benincasa said. “The Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival is going to be a great winter event for couples and families to experience Easton this Valentine’s Day weekend, and a downtown ice rink only adds to the wonderful things to do all weekend long.” Dr. Juan Cordero, a Cardiologist at AAMC’s Easton Pavilion, added, “Anne Arundel Medical Center is passionate about supporting the health of our community, and ice skating at the Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival is another way for people to be active as they enjoy this great event.”
