The April featured artist at The Artists’ Gallery is Jody Primoff. Meet the artist at an opening reception on First Friday, April 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 239 High Street in Chestertown.

Jody Primoff’s inspiration for her art continues to be her time spent on the Eastern Shore. “Although I no longer live on the Eastern Shore, having recently moved to a Baltimore suburb, it still inspires my painting. I love the peaceful, horizontals, the presence of water, the golden fields and the great skies,” she said.”

The April show in Chestertown presents Jody’s favorite subject, landscape. The paintings are several different mediums, including pastel, acrylic and mixed media, some of which begin with pen and ink, add watercolor, colored pencil or pastel and use of rice paper as a base. “The love of color is always also evident,” Jody added. “This recent work is a distillation of my time in that beautiful part of the world.”
