Financial Literacy Summit
October 2, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Sixty percent of Americans don’t keep a monthly budget. Junior Achievement is trying to improve this statistic for future generations.
Join Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2 at Easton High School for a conversation about the importance of financial literacy in our community and the financial security of our residents with guest speaker, Peter Franchot, Comptroller of Maryland. Other guest speakers include Geoff Oxnam, CEO of American Microgrid Solutions; Chad Nagel, Vice President of Nagel Farm Service; Eric Brotman, President & Managing Principal of Brotman Financial Group; Laura Shahan, Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Chesapeake College; and Debbie Elmes, Branch Manager of Morgan Stanley.
Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JA) is a local non-profit with a mission to improve the level of financial literacy in future generations. Through partnerships with the local school districts, JA recruits business members from the community to deliver age-appropriate curriculum to K-12 students in six counties here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Last year, JA’s programs reached 1,373 students in Talbot County.
Light appetizers will be provided by Easton High School’s Culinary Arts Students. This financial summit was generously sponsored by Brotman Financial Group, Inc. and Wye Financial & Trust, a division of Shore United Bank. RSVP to Kate Bleile at 410-742-8112 or email@example.com.
