Watch as artists render beautiful landscapes, Bay scenes and architecture as well as Kent Island at night. An awards reception will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kent Island Yacht Club. There will be an opportunity to purchase “off the easel” artworks. On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., competition artists will compete in quick draw events in historic Stevensville with an awards ceremony at 2 p.m. A youth competition for children under 12 and ages 12 to 18 will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. with awards at 4 p.m. From 1 to 4:30 p.m., “Off the Easel” Sales will take place with a reception at KIFA at 5 p.m. For details, call 410-643-7424.

Guided Kayak Trip

Experience the wonders of the wetlands via kayak. An experienced and certified naturalist/kayak guide will lead you through basic kayak instruction and then will lead you on a paddle to explore the watershed of Marshy Creek. Hopefully you will encounter wading birds, waterfowl, and migratory raptors hunting the marshlands. Common sightings include otter, muskrat, terrapin turtles, jellyfish and slithery water snakes.
