Youth Fishing Derby

June 3 | 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Turner’s Creek Park, Kennedyville

Join together with area businesses, organizations, and volunteers in enjoying the great outdoors and fish-not just for the sport of it, but for the family values it can instill. This special event includes prizes for casting, biggest fish of the day, biggest fish in a species, and biggest fish in each age division. Free lunch and goodie bag to all registered children. Rod and reel give-away to first 75 to pre-register and arrive by 10 am the day of event. Bait will be provided. This is a rain or shine event. Rock Hall International & Sprint Triathlon

Sultana Public Sails

Sultana Education Foundation, 105 South Cross Street, Chestertown

Sultana’s two-hour public sails are a great way to sail the Chester River onboard a traditional schooner. Passengers are encouraged to help raise the sails, steer using Sultana’s seven-foot long tiller, and explore the authentically reproduced crew’s quarters below-decks. Annual Rock Hall Rockfish Tournament

Mutt Strut 5K Run/Walk

Wilmer Park, Chestertown

Join The Humane Society of Kent County & the Chestertown Runners Club for the 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk with proceeds benefiting the shelter. The race starts and finishes at Wilmer Park. The course runs along the Chester River and winds through gentle hills. With or without your dog, come enjoy the Kent County countryside while supporting a great cause. 16th Annual Mutt Strut

June 10 | 10 a.m. Registration and 11 a.m. Parade Start

Chestertown Court House

Grab your mutt and come strut in the annual parade to raise funds for The Humane Society of Kent County. If you don’t have a dog, or if it’s best to leave Fido at home, you can still come out to support the shelter. There will be food, contests, prizes, raffles, music and vendors so bring the whole family out to enjoy a fun day of animal friendly activities. Bog and Water Gardening

Down River Race

June 16 | 9 a.m.

Rock Hall Yacht Club, 22759 McKinleyville Road, Rock Hall

This is a point-to-point race, open to all dinghy, one design, or day sailing classes. The race will begin near the Chester River Yacht and Country Club (CRY&CC) dock, run down the Chester River for approximately 12 nautical miles and finish near the entrance to Langford Creek and the Rock Hall Yacht Club (RHYC). The RHYC welcomes all sailors and spectators to enjoy the RHYC facilities, pool, bar, and full menu before, during and after the race. Call 410-639-2182 for details.

RHYC One Design Regatta

All one design sailing classes are welcome. The RHYC is situated on the beautiful Chester River which is a great place to sail since there is a lot of open water, limited powerboat traffic, easy beach and lift launching and plenty of grass on which to park and rig. Short Attention Span Theatre

Bay to Bay Bicycle Ride

June 25 | 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

Begins from Betterton Volunteer Fire Company

The tour, hosted by the Chestertown Lions Club, consists of four routes between 27 and 104 miles in length. The flat loop routes take in the scenery of the heartland of the Upper Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware including farmlands, old country homes, quaint towns, and great country stores. The 27- mile ride goes through historic Chestertown for those who want a less challenging ride. Spend the day touring the town, then return to join your friends at the beach. Street Dance and Baby Beauty Contest
