First Saturday Guided Walk

Saturday, October 7 • 10 – 11 a.m.

Adkins Arboretum, 12610 Eveland Road, Ridgely

Explore the Arboretum’s diverse plant communities on a guided walk led by an Arboretum docent naturalist. Explore the bottomland forest and upland paths, meander through majestic beech trees, traverse the native meadows and follow the narrow Tuckahoe Creekside path. Guided walks are free for members and free with admission for the general public. Tours begin at the Visitor’s Center and last approximately one hour. Fairyfest 2017

Saturday, October 14 • 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Adkins Arboretum, 12610 Eveland Road, Ridgely

Follow a trail of fairy houses along enchanted forest paths and join in a meadow maypole dance. Search for gnomes in the Funshine Garden, craft magical treasures to take home and wave to the Billy Goats Gruff from atop a hay wagon. Live entertainment will take place in our woodland theatre throughout the day. Shimmery face painting, rainbow bubbles and fairytale games, including archery, are part of the fun. 7th Annual Ridgely Car Show

Sunday, October 15 • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

7 West Belle Street, Ridgely

Head to Ridgely for the most action packed car show on the Shore. This year’s event will also feature autographs by “The King” Richard Petty, fire truck rides, silent and live auctions, the Mopar 1 Monster Truck, ponies, train displays, a 50/50 raffle, face painting and more. The Ridgely Car Show accepts all years, makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles in dozens of classes. Denton Ghost Walk

Tours depart the Courthouse Green, Market Street, Denton

Join Chesapeake Ghost Walks for a haunted stroll through Denton. Sites on the walking tour include the Caroline Jail and the ghost of Wish Sheppard, the old St. Luke’s Cemetery and the Courthouse Green, where you will hear stories about the old. Downtown Denton’s Trunk or Treat

October 28 • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

4th Street municipal lot (Gay and 4th Street), Denton
