Oxford Community Center Events

The Oxford Community Center (OCC) provides an interesting range of programming, as well as special events throughout the year, including Tai Chi classes as well as jam sessions, and much more. Open to the public, OCC offers the following during the month of July:

Tai Chi

Tuesdays and Thursdays • 8 a.m. Come experience a class with Nathan Spivey, a certified Bow Sim Mark Tai Chi Arts Association affiliate instructor with 40 years of experience. Cost is $75 per month or $10 per class.

Steady and Strong

Tuesdays and Thursdays • 10:30 a.m. Steady and Strong is a 45-minute class for adults who seek enhanced core and muscle strength as well as better balance. Class leader is Janet Pfeffer. Cost is $8 per class or $50 for 10 classes.

Intermediate Tai Chi

Wednesdays • 8 a.m. Join Nathan Spivey for Intermediate Tai Chi classes. Cost is $37.50 per month or $10 a class.

Open Jam Session

Wednesdays • 8 p.m. Bring your instruments and join in the fun. Free.

Patio Parties

Fridays • 2-5 p.m. Start the weekend by visiting with your neighbors enjoying live music. Beverages and Firehouse Auxiliary baked goods for sale. Pick up your Veggie Delight Subscription Box.

Sons of Pirates

July 6 • 6 p.m. Enjoy an evening with the best beach music party band in the Mid-Atlantic. Cost is $20 per person. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

Cars and Coffee

July 7 • 9:30-11:30 a.m. Stop by to see the beautiful cars and speak to the owners. Free.

Kids Movies

July 11, 18, 25 • 6 p.m. Children are welcome to come watch an age appropriate movie for free.

Paint Oxford

July 15 • All Day. Artists will be participating in Plein Air Easton’s Paint Oxford Day. Paintings will be on display starting at noon; full exhibit and reception at 5 p.m. Listen to live music for free on the lawn, which starts at 3 p.m.

The Christopher Foundation Crab Feast

July 21 • Noon – 6 p.m. The Christopher Foundation is hosting a Crab Feast, Silent Auction and Day of Empowerment featuring Life Healer, Lori Wheeler, and Celebrity Trainer/Motivational Speaker, Dolvett Quince. Proceeds will benefit “The Christopher Center,” dedicated to the memory of Christopher Bradley to help our youth. Cost is $65. Visit www.facebook.com/The-Christopher-Foundation-for-Life.

Book Club

July 23 • 10:30 a.m. The Oxford Book Club meets at the Holy Trinity Church. This month’s book is A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Klein. All are welcome.
