Plant a Seed of Hope: Crossroads Community, Inc. to Host Client Art Show

July 14, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

For more than 30 years, Crossroads Community has been offering hope to individuals with behavioral health challenges in a five-county service area on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Its caring staff and volunteers believe that people can and do recover from behavioral health issues. Crossroads programs promote the resiliency necessary for recovery and independent life in the community through a wide variety of services that are tailored to a person’s specific needs.

In support of our clients and the services Crossroads Community provides, you are invited to join us for the opening reception of the Crossroads Community Client Art Show, “Plant a Seed of Hope,” on July 14 from 5-7 pm at the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts. View works from over 30 clients in a variety of media while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and wine. A number of works will be for sale and a limited number of gift bags will be shared with guests. You also can meet the staff and Board of Directors for Crossroads Community, Inc. and learn more about how this organization serves our community.

Carla Thorpe, Program Director at Crossroads Community, Inc., is excited about the participation and enthusiasm the clients and staff have taken in the art show. “Planning and executing this art show has been a wonderful project for our clients. Allowing them to express themselves and be part of a community event does wonders for their recovery and healing. Having an event such this also allows us to speak about behavioral health issues and ultimately stop the stigma associated with it.”

If you cannot make the reception, visit the Centre for the Arts at 206 S. Commerce Street, Centreville where the artwork will be on display from July 14-27 during their normal operating hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm. There is plenty of free parking and no admission charge.
