Rotary Club of Tidewater’s Annual Fishing Tournament

April 27, 2018 @ 5:30 am - 1:00 pm

The Rotary Club of Tidewater-Easton will host its 7th annual fishing tournament on Friday, April 27. Boats will leave the docks of the Tred Avon Yacht Club in Oxford at 5:30 a.m. The club is working with more than 12 local boat charters to take participants out during prime rock fishing season.

The cost per entry is $150, which includes boat, bait, tackle, an event T-shirt and lunch at the Tred Avon Yacht Club. Prizes will be awarded for the longest and heaviest fish caught during the day. The event is designed for anglers of any ability, and all are welcome to register. Those who would like to join the group for lunch may do so for $20.

“We are thrilled that this event keeps getting bigger and better each year. We appreciate the continued support of our boat captains, sponsors and anglers that help make this fundraiser possible,” said Brian Gearhart, chairman of the event. “We’re looking forward to a beautiful day with great company and lots of fish.”

Event sponsors to date include The Gearhart Group – Benson and Mangold Real Estate, Rockledge Partners Investment Services, Chesapeake College, Ferry Point Marina, Attraction magazine, Sprout and Hair O’ the Dog wine & spirits. Sponsorship opportunities are available and range in price from $500 to $2,500.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the community service work of the Rotary Club of Tidewater-Easton, which has included support of Talbot Goes Purple, CarePacks of Talbot County, the Neighborhood Service Center, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Talbot County Senior Center at Brookletts Place, and Junior Achievement.
