St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on Chesapeake Bay
Jaguar Land Rover of Annapolis presents the 14th St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on Chesapeake Bay to be held on Sunday, September 26. Help celebrate Grand Classic Motoring in a style and elegance of a bygone era, along the tranquil waterfront grounds of Talbot Country Club, located between St. Michaels and Oxford, in Easton.
The Talbot Country Club, founded in 1910, holds the prestigious distinction of being the oldest continually operated golf and social club on the Eastern Shore. It lies on an idyllic setting along the banks of Trippe Creek near Oxford.
“Talbot Country Club’s beautiful landscape,” says Concours Chairman Luke L. Phipps, “its rolling hills and fairways of grandeur are the perfect backdrop for an event which has style, luxury and elegance at its core.”
The Country Club’s waterfront lawn and show field on Sunday will feature rare, pre-war European and American coach-built automobiles, as well as significantly important post-war Sports and Touring Cars. A special class of previous Best in Show winners is being created along with a special featuring of the 60th Anniversary of the E-Type Jaguar. This special featuring will be joined by a Best in Show exhibition of Senior Award-Winning Automobiles from significant Concours throughout the country, including Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Boca Raton and Radnor Hunt.
Luke adds, “Experiencing Talbot Country Club’s welcoming members, General Manager Rob McWilliam’s compassion and caring attention to detail along with Chef David’s culinary expertise and commitment to local ingredients, makes for a delightful grand setting. We’ll be debuting an all exclusive VIP and Entrants Gallery, which shall feature a gourmet garden party with live music, flowing champagne and delicious culinary delights.”
Enhancing the mood of stepping back in time and in the tradition of historic Concours events held in pre-war Paris, this exhibit of automobiles will be complemented by an elegant fashion show and a display of classic wooden speed boats moored along the show field.
Consider joining in for a day of Grand Classic Motoring, classic wooden speed boats, and casual elegance on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Discounted advance general admission and VIP tickets are on sale now and may be purchased online. A limited number of VIP tickets, which includes a Gourmet Lunch and Exclusive Entrant’s Gallery access, are only available for advance purchase online.
