Talbot Bird Club Outings

Members of the Talbot Bird Club, part of the Maryland Ornithological Society, are grateful to all landowners who have embraced the love of this region’s wonderful array of resident and migratory birds and invited the public to enjoy them on their private properties. It is suggested to bring binoculars. Carpooling is recommended as is contributing to gas money. These outings are free and open to the public as follows:

Sunday, December 1 • 6:30 a.m.

North Dorchester County – Cambridge, Egypt Road

Seeking waterfowl, field birds, and sparrows.

Depart: Easton Acme parking lot

Sunday, December 8 • 7 a.m.

White Marsh Park at Bloomfield Farm, Queen Anne’s County

Over 300 acres of CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) of warm season grasses with adjacent wooded ravine will provide an opportunity to view a variety of species.

In the past, large numbers of Pipits, Horned Larks and Sparrows along the roads and landings have been seen.

Annual Christmas Count

Count coordinator/compiler is Wayne Bell, who may be contacted at 410-820-6002 or wbell2@washcoll.edu. Wayne will assign an area to each participant. Let Wayne know if an individual would like to be with an experienced birder.

Following the bird count, there will be a potluck dinner at Fellowship Hall, Royal Oak Methodist Church, 6968 Bellevue Road, Royal Oak.
