The Artists’ Gallery Features “Vicissitudes”
April 6 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
On First Friday, April 6, Marc Rubin will be the featured artist at The Artists’ Gallery in Chestertown. In “Vicissitudes,” Marc’s eye focuses on the world around us, as he “pulls things from the debris of the world,” and listens closely to whispered stories that we sometimes ignore, giving them voice through his paintings. He is able to capture the essence of discarded beauty and give it life and light, and in turn, create something even more beautiful than its original state.
Overall, as a classical representational oil painter, Marc’s paintings exude a timeless quality. His rich use of color and finely developed eye for compositions set him apart from his contemporaries. Classically trained by his mentor, Thomas Buechner, in upstate New York, Marc emerged from his art studies with a unique point of view. His work has been featured in art galleries in Corning, New York, Lambertville, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, as well as The Artists’ Gallery in Chestertown. Marc is based in Elmira, New York.
The public is invited to visit The Artists’ Gallery on April 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. for light refreshments and libations. Marc’s work will be featured throughout the month of April. The Artists’ Gallery is located at 239 High Street in Chestertown and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
