In an inspiring solo performance, actress Leslie McCurdy will captivate the audience to deliver a powerful story of courage and social commitment. Leslie has only a trunk of costumes and a barren stage as her landscape. For a breathtaking hour, she embodies the “spirit” of Harriet Tubman and shares Harriet’s empowering story from her early childhood to her elderly years, using words said to have been Harriet’s own. Sea Kayaking Training Program

March 1 • 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Cult Classic Brewery, Stevensville

Join the nonprofit Chesapeake Paddlers Association for Introduction to Sea Kayaking. Experienced sea kayakers will provide presentations on selecting kayaks and paddles, paddling pointers, kayaking gear, kayaking safely, places to paddle and transporting and storing kayaks. Area kayakers will be available to share their personal stories and tips as well. Boats, paddles, and gear will be on display. This event is primarily for the new paddler. For a $30 fee, participants will receive a light breakfast, lunch, and all the information they need to get ready for the upcoming paddling season. The mission of the Chesapeake Paddlers Association is to help people safely enjoy sea kayaking and to promote safe paddling practices through the education of the local sea kayaking community and the interested public. Club activities include kayak day trips, kayak camping, instructional workshops and informal weekday evening paddles. The Chesapeake Paddlers Association is a completely volunteer-run organization and its members include many of the area’s most experienced kayakers. Changes in Latitudes-A Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show

This nationally touring band changes attitudes and puts the audience in a Margaritaville state of mind with the ultimate beach party experience. Changes In Latitudes is the country’s premier tribute show to the Mayor of Margaritaville, Jimmy Buffett. This nationally acclaimed band roams the country bringing their dancing conga lines and “Trop Rock” fun to every venue they play. It’s the ultimate beach party that’s good clean fun for all ages. Over their 16-plus year history, the band has travelled from Maine to Barbados, Cape Cod to Chicago. From the 900-seat Walt Disney Theaters aboard the Disney Magic and Wonder cruise ships, to the National Hamburger Festival in Akron, Ohio, in front of 6,500 fans looking for their “Cheeseburger In Paradise,” they’ve set attendance records in quite a few locales. A troupe of 12 artists from New Mexico bring a high-energy performance featuring visual arts, live music, dancing and comedy together in a frenzy of color and fun. Never before have so many live arts been presented on one stage. Artists, using hands, brushes and other objects, create visual art pieces making lines and shapes on giant canvas’ while the audience is intrigued to guess what each painting will become. All the while, live musicians are performing music with Artrageous’ powerful vocalists creating smooth harmonies. All the while, Artrageous dancers have the audience dancing in the aisles.
