Triple Creek Winery Open for Business

“Welcome to Triple Creek Winery.” This is the greeting one will most likely hear on entering the tasting room. That room is actually the small rustic barn built originally to house all the equipment needed to care for the grapevines whose grapes are destined for the wines of Triple Creek.

Established by the Spies family as a commercial vineyard in 2008, just a few years later, the family turned to making their own wines with their own grapes. Four brothers, Taylor, Paul, Alex and Corey, had a dream of starting a winery. The Spies family has been involved in agriculture on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for five generations. As a family business, everyone pitches in.

Starting with just four wines, there are now 17 different wines. Although Triple Creek’s wine menu features dry reds and whites, they are able to satisfy the palate of their guests who enjoy sweet wines, also.

Triple Creek Winery welcomes guests five days a week but encourages anyone traveling through Talbot County to call and make an appointment to visit in the off hours.

Although the winery enjoys planning events at their winery such as the Chesapeake Balloon Festival (slated for July 30, 2021), blue grass festivals, concerts and movie nights, the family welcomes guests and non-profit groups to make use of their spacious grounds. Most events have been cancelled due to COVID-19 quarantine, but the Spies hope to resume a full schedule in 2021.

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, dinner or snacks and enjoy a glass of wine among the vines at leisure. Folks are bound to find and enjoy a local, Maryland wine produced by Triple Creek Winery of Talbot County.

Triple Creek Winery is located in Cordova at 11138 Three Bridge Branch Road. For more information, call 410-819-9958 or visit triplecreekwinery.com.
