10th Annual “Splendor” Event
April 14, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Tilghman Watermen’s Museum will again host the 10th Annual “Splendor,” the museum’s annual fundraising event. This year’s Splendor will be held at the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Hall on Saturday, April 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. As in previous years, Splendor will feature a variety of fine wines, a raw bar, and hors d’oeuvres, all included in the price of admission.
The raw bar will provide oysters by the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center and will be prepared by Timmy Fluharty, renown shucker.
Live and silent auctions will feature, an original painting from renown, award-winning artist Nancy Tankersley, artwork by waterman artist Bill Cummings, a week in a cottage in Biddeford Pool in Maine, an original, limited edition 1958-59 Federal Duck Stamp design print, a hand-crafted coffee table by Tilghman artisan Ken Peake, oyster knives crafted by Timmy Fluharty, a signed John Barber print, unique earrings designed for this auction by Aida Leisure, fishing trips and a visit from Santa. Gift certificates to area restaurants and attractions, artwork by local artists and photographers and crabbing trips are on the list, too.
Tommy Trice will serve as the auctioneer this year with Linda Haddaway King as Master of Ceremonies. Admission is $35 per person, and tickets are available at Two if by Sea Café, the Tilghman Island Country Store or by contacting the museum at 410-886-2930 or email@example.com.
