First Saturday Guided Walk

Saturday, April 6 • 10-11 a.m.

Adkins Arboretum, 12610 Eveland Road, Ridgely

Explore the Arboretum’s diverse plant communities on a guided walk led by an Arboretum docent naturalist. Explore the bottomland forest and upland paths, meander through majestic beech trees, traverse the native meadows, and follow the narrow Tuckahoe Creekside path. Guided walks are free for members and free with admission for the general public. Tours begin at the Visitor’s Center and last approximately one hour. Contact 410-634-2847 for more information.

Arbor Day 5K

Saturday, April 6 • Check-in begins at 8 a.m., 10K Run at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:05 a.m.

Adkins Arboretum, 12610 Eveland Road, Ridgely

Dust off your running shoes and start training to hustle for the herd. Runners, walkers, families and nature enthusiasts are invited to Adkins Arboretum’s 14th Annual Arbor Day Run. Proceeds benefit the Arboretum’s goat herd, used for targeted grazing of invasive species. Featuring 5K and 10K races, a One-Mile Fun Run/Walk and a Healthy Kids’ 100-yard Dash, the Arbor Day Run is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an early-spring morning in nature. Participants will pass the Arboretum’s goat herd on the cross-country course plotted along a network of scenic, easily navigable trails. Contact 410-634-2847 for more information.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Friday, April 12 • Hunt starts at 8:15 p.m. for 3-4 year olds, and 8:45 p.m. for 5-10 year olds

Greensboro Elementary School, Greensboro

When the sun goes down the fun begins. This variation of the traditional Easter Egg Hunt will provide new fun and excitement for all. Kids will “hunt” eggs in the dark using only a flashlight and their own night vision. Prizes will be won for the special eggs that are found. Each participant needs to bring a flashlight and wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Parent or guardian must attend with their children. Tuckahoes Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 20 • 1 p.m.

Cherry Lane Picnic Area, Tuckahoe State Park, Queen Anne

More than 4,000 plastic and boiled eggs are hidden at this family-friendly event at Tuckahoe State Park. Open to children under the age of 10. A more challenging family/team hunt will take place at 2 p.m. at Adkins Arboretum. Call 410-820-1668 for details.

Spring Open House and Plant Sale

17th Annual Hobby Fair

Federalsburg Elementary School, University Avenue, Federalsburg
