There will be music in the air and dancing in the streets again this June when the Avalon Foundation and Chesapeake Bay Foundation partner to bring the popular Clean Water Concert Series back to Easton.
“We’re looking forward to turning Harrison Street in downtown Easton into one huge block party again,” said Suzy Moore of the Avalon Foundation. “The Clean Water Concert Series is a really fun way to celebrate our community and raise awareness about what we can all do to help restore health to local rivers and the Chesapeake Bay.”
Organized by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) in partnership with the Avalon Foundation, the Clean Water Concert Series offers free live music and family-friendly educational activities hosted by local environmental and community groups.
This year’s series will begin on Harrison Street at 6 p.m. with the following musical entertainment beginning at 7 p.m.
Food vendors will be on location to tantalize everyone’s taste buds with ethnic food. On Saturday, June 24, the US Navy Band Sea Chanters will perform Broadway and current hits. And, Harrison Street will turn into the town’s biggest dance floor on Saturday, July 8, when the XPDs start playing.
“The concert series is a great way for families and friends to come out and learn about all the progress being made on the health of our rivers and streams,” said Alan Girard, Director at The Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Eastern Shore Division. “It’s also a safe place for people of various cultures and backgrounds to be together and enjoy the ties that bind us – music, the environment, and the rich diversity of people who make our Eastern Shore community special. We all have a stake in the quality of our environment. Our whole community needs to work together to finish the job of restoring our waterways to health.”
