Constitution Day

September 17, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Constitution Alliance will host an inaugural celebration of Constitution Day on Saturday, September 17. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Talbot County Courthouse Lawn and will include family-friendly activities, games, music, recurring speakers, and educational exhibits.

Come celebrate the day in 1787 when our U.S. government was born. Build your Constitution knowledge, learn how the founders crafted the Constitution and discover how Frederick Douglass used the Constitution to enable freedom. Be sure to pick up a free Pocket Constitution.

The event will be co-hosted with Operation Frederick Douglass on the Hill and the Washington College Institute for Religion, Politics and Culture.

The Constitution Alliance, a project of The Constitution Alliance Fund sponsored by the Mid-Shore Community Foundation and Shore United Bank, aims to help strengthen the Constitutional IQ of youth and citizens to better understand the blessings of freedom our Founding Fathers secured for all Americans. They seek to engage and educate the community to understand their rights and obligations under the State and U.S. Constitutions.
