The 10th Annual Guest Artist Gala will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 6 p.m. in the George B. Todd Performance Hall at the Dorchester Center for the Arts. The new teams are in place for this year’s event, featuring artists Kathy Flament, Leslie Giles, Deborah Haynes, Theresa McFadden, Linda Starling and Fran Saunders, of Main Street Gallery in Cambridge, as well as artist David Grafton, of Grafton Gallery in Easton. The theme for this year’s gala is “Monet’s Garden.” As always, black tie admired, not required. Guests will enjoy an evening of art, music and dancing, along with both live and silent auctions. Returning as the main sponsor for the event is 1880 Bank.

Guest Artist Gala is an opportunity to support DCA and raise awareness of the arts. The premise is that key community leaders, who are not perceived as artists, are selected to be “Guest Artists.” Local professional artists are then paired with the Guest. Art mediums vary and can include watercolor, oils, acrylics, pottery, photography, jewelry and more. Working together, and coached by the professional, the community leader creates a work of art. The Professional Artists and Guest Artists are given several weeks to create the work. The pieces are then auctioned off at the event. This year’s teams are as follows:

Tickets for this year’s Gala feature discounts for DCA members and for purchasing a table of 10. Tickets are $65 for DCA members; $75 for non-members; $550 for a table of 10 – members; $700 for a table of 10 – non-members. Guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer/wine cash bar and signature cocktails. Returning favorites Rich and the Roadrunners, featuring Daryl Davis, will heat up the dance floor. Daryl has an extensive music background and has delighted audiences for years. Rich and the Roadrunners have received rave reviews from audiences in Baltimore, Washington and Pennsylvania.
