July 4th Celebration and Children’s Parade

July 4, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The St. Michaels Museum will again celebrate Independence Day, beginning with a children’s parade. The festivities on July 4 begin at St. Mary’s Square at 10 a.m. Patriotic dress is encouraged for all, and children, bicycles, wagons, and pets are welcomed to participate.

Follow the parade route from the museum, along Talbot Street, to the square. The patriotic program begins at 11 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance and flag raising will be led by Boy Scout Troop 741.

Enjoy refreshments from the fire department’s food truck and Justine’s Ice Cream. Phillips Wharf’s Fishmobile and Magician John Dodge will be there for the children’s enjoyment.

Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Curator Pete Lesher will speak on “Frederick Douglas and Freedom Through Education.” Also see the St. Michaels Museum’s current exhibit, “Business in St Michaels,” and the Permanent Exhibit of the Life of Frederick Douglass.

The St. Michaels Museum is located at 201 East Chestnut Street in St. Michaels. For more information, call 410-745-0530 or visit www.stmichaelsmuseum.org.
