Adventure awaits when Kalmar Nyckel, The Tall Ship of Delaware, returns to Cambridge. Discover the remarkable story behind Kalmar Nyckel, a full-scale replica of the merchant ship that brought Swedish settlers to North America in 1638. Day sails on the Kalmar Nyckel offer a unique, hands-on experience where adventure and education come together. Haul lines, set sails, and hear tales from the crew, or simply relax and enjoy the ship. Kids will enjoy a scavenger hunt and pirate story (costumes welcome). Tickets are limited and available online at KalmarNyckel.org/explore or by calling 302-429-7447. Tickets cost $65 per adult and $40 per child 12 and younger. Advance reservations are highly recommended. The schedule is weather dependent.
Reading Social

Harvesting Hope hosts monthly Reading Socials to promote literacy, healthy nutrition, and art. Children have an array of books to read to someone or have someone read to them. Children receive a free book at each social to build home libraries. The reading socials are free literacy support for children 12 and under but no child will be turned away. Youth Fishing Fun Day

This non-competitive fishing event is for youth 15 and under. Parking is at the pavilion at Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park. Fishing poles and bait will be provided or bring your own. Staff and volunteers are on hand to assist youth with their fishing experience. Free hot dog lunch and take-home goodies for the first 100 registered youths. Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester Sail
June 3, 7, 10, 17, 24 • 1-3 p.m.
Long Wharf, 100 High Street, Cambridge
Join the Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester, an authentic traditional oyster dredging vessel and Maryland’s state boat, for a two-hour cruise on the Choptank River. Each sail is two hours long and generally includes an oyster dredging demonstration. Sails are unique depending on wind, weather, captain and crew. Advance reservations are recommended and accepted online until midnight of the day before the sail. The Nathan carries up to 20 passengers per trip. For details, visit www.skipjack-nathan.org.
Golf Tournament and Crab Feast

Finding Harriet Tubman’s Family Dwelling

This monthly celebration in downtown Cambridge features art gallery receptions, as well as specials in the independently owned shops and great dining. Annual Members Exhibit and Sale

Athletes will get comfortable in an open water swim by freestyling their way through the Choptank River. The flat bike course through the wildlife refuge will allow athletes to test their cadence while taking in scenic vistas, and athletes can widen their stride during the 13.1-mile run until they hit the finish line in Gerry Boyle Park.
