First Saturday Guided Walk

November 2 • 10-11 a.m.

Adkins Arboretum, 12610 Eveland Road, Ridgely

Explore the Arboretum’s diverse plant communities on a guided walk led by an Arboretum docent naturalist. Explore the bottomland forest and upland paths, meander through majestic Beech trees, traverse the native meadows, and follow the narrow Tuckahoe Creekside path. Guided walks are free for members and free with admission for the general public. Tours begin at the Visitor’s Center and last approximately one hour. Visit www.adkinsarboretum.org or 410-634-2847.

Saturday Paddling Adventures – Idylwild Ramble

November 2 • 2 p.m.

Launch from Federalsburg Marina Pier

Basic boat handling and safety instruction at 2 p.m. Trip Departs at 2:30 p.m.

Discover the beauty of area river trails on this great family outing. Paddle up Marshyhope Creek into Idylwild Preserve and enjoy the fall colors. Cost is $15 for Y members or if you have your own canoe/kayak; $25 for those needing a kayak or canoe. Fee includes warm apple cider, trained guides, and two or three hours on the river. 51st Annual Holiday Bazaar

Soup and Walk: Nutritious Berries, Nuts, & Seeds

Enjoy the autumn harvest as we hunt for nutritious berries, nuts, and seeds and check for signs of beaver. Plants of interest include Dogwood, Hibiscus, Partridge Berry, Oak, Loblolly Pine, Juniper, Verbena, Ironwood, and Strawberry Bush. Turkey Trot Fun Run, Walk or Jog

November 23 • Registration at 8 a.m. Event begins at 9 a.m.

Denton Elementary School, 303 Sharp Road, Denton

The 34th Annual Turkey Trot is a two-mile walk, run, or jog for all ages from Denton Elementary School to Martinak State Park and back. All participants will be entered in a raffle for a free turkey. The event also features a Turkey Dinner Relay, games, crafts and refreshments. The first 75 registrants will receive a free gift. Cost is $10 per runner and $30 per group of four if registered by November 15 ($15 per runner and $45 per group of four if registered after November 15). Tuckahoe Treasures Christmas Open House

November 30 • 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

8955 Tuckahoe Road, Denton
