Attraction Magazine has a legacy of bringing good news, good art, and good culture to readers in the Mid Shore region of Maryland. The freely distributed monthly magazine features art, music, events, - and human interest stories about the communities it serves. The publication relies on advertising support to bring artistic and natural beauty and good vibes to the loyal and new readers from Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties
Debbie began her career in the newspaper business and took a circuitous path through transportation service and state & local government back to publishing. She has a varied professional background – she’s been in the private sector and the public sector, she’s worked for family businesses and large organizations, and she’s been at the front line for customer service and in strategic leadership roles. Before striking out on her own, she was Director of Caroline County Economic Development & Tourism, during which time she learned the value of open communication for residents and businesses in the county. She earned degrees in journalism and political science, and she is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and Shore Leadership. Her hobbies include activities that she enjoys but isn’t very good at like gardening, DIY home improvements, and cat-herding. Ryan joined Attraction in 2019 as the Graphic Designer. He studied Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Washington and has designed logos for various local businesses, including an award-winning BBQ team. He is a native of Talbot County and a freelance artist. Ryan has had art in galleries and stores in St. Michaels and Easton and has also had work in several art shows including Out of the Box at Plein Air and the Christmas in Easton Art & Craft Show. With over 15 years of graphic design experience, Ryan brings his natural, artistic abilities to design ads for the companies that advertise in Attraction magazine. In his free time, Ryan enjoys painting and playing guitar, both for fun and in a band.
Wendi grew up in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, and earned a B.S. degree in Marketing from the University of Tampa. Her professional background includes banking, marketing, substitute teaching, sailing instruction, and community leadership. As the wife of a retired Air Force Colonel, she and her family lived throughout the continental United States, Hawaii, and the United Kingdom before settling on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Wendi’s experience raising five children through 10 moves strengthened her adaptability, organization, and ability to connect with people from many backgrounds. She is also an active volunteer and member of the Caroline County Historical Society, where she previously chaired the most recent Caroline County Historic Home Tour. Outside of work, Wendi enjoys restoring their historic home, church and community activities, gardening, boating, and spending time with her husband, five children and six grandchildren.
