Talbot Thrive Announces its 2026 Art in Motion Exhibition Artists

Talbot Thrive is pleased to announce its 2026 Art in Motion exhibition showcasing 24 pieces by 19 Maryland artists. The submissions were judged by Zach Gallery director Aynsley Schopfer (Easton) and MassoniArt Gallery owner and director Carla Massoni (Chestertown). The exhibition will run during Plein Air Week, July 10-19, and will feature a diversity of media including metal sculpture, mixed media, string art, collage, print, photography, ink drawing, and painting.

The artists selected by the judges are Troy Paolantonio, Dave Dunn, Irene Martinelli, Nancy Keene Fishel, Abby Huston, Alexandra Arata, Pat Lang, Maryam Mohi, Steven M. Sirota, Janet DiNapoli, Emily McDaniel, Richard Niewerth, Sheryl Southwick, Jay Moore, Lesley Giles, Nanny Trippe, Theresa Knight McFadden, Deborah Haynes, and Cynthia Miles.

Intended as a complement to Plein Air’s traditional landscape focus, Art in Motion takes a more human perspective, celebrating human mobility, community, and enjoyment of the outdoors in line with Talbot Thrive’s mission to promote healthy lifestyles, safety, and active transportation and to improve opportunities for people to walk, bike, and move freely outdoors in Talbot County.

“We have a wonderful variety of interpretations of our exhibition themes,” explains Deidra Lyngard, Art in Motion’s organizer and Talbot Thrive board member. “We hope everyone strolling around town during Plein Air week will make a stop at Talbot Thrive’s gallery space at 17 East Dover Street to enjoy these creative and distinctive works exploring the intersection of movement and art.”
