GRASONVILLE, MD — The Chesterwye Center, a leading non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, announced two key updates to its leadership team: the promotion of Katie Clendaniel to Director of Strategic Advancement and the hiring of Ron Walters as Day Program Manager. These organizational developments mark a significant step forward in the Center’s mission to expand its regional footprint and enhance its community programming.

Katie Clendaniel, an established non-profit and community development professional on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, elevates to the role of Director of Strategic Advancement. In her new capacity, Clendaniel will supervise the development, communication, and major capital initiatives towards the overall advancement of The Chesterwye Center. The role leads the development and stewardship of strategic community and government partnerships in support of the mission, annual priorities, and fundraising targets. Having previously driven successful local development and advocacy projects, her deep roots in community leadership make her uniquely positioned to scale Chesterwye’s strategic vision and strengthen its network of regional advocates.

Joining the leadership team alongside Clendaniel is Ronald Walters, who steps into the role of Day Program Manager. Walters brings extensive experience in program administration and a proven track record of designing enriching, person-centered activities. As Day Program Manager, he will lead the daily operations of Chesterwye’s specialized day programs, focusing on curriculum innovation, skill-building opportunities, and fostering an inclusive environment that empowers participants to achieve their highest level of independence.
